I was an overweight kid from an overweight family. I became overweight from boredom eating and lack of afterschool activities. At around the age of 11 I would care for my disabled grandmother afterschool and eat junkfood and watch T.V. most of the time.  I became overweight and was teased by classmates and excluded from playground sports and activities. It hurt a lot.

My passion for fitness began with group exercise…well, dance really. My career, although I didn’t know it at the time, un-officially started in the garage of my childhood home at the age of about 6. Armed with a tape player, a copy of K.C. and the Sunshine Band’s “Shake Your Booty”, and a couple of friends that didn’t mind being told how to move and when, a love affair with fitness was a-brewin’.
